We’re saying goodbye to CDs in the spring of 2026 and going fully digital. That means longer storylines for your favorite characters. Less waiting between multi-part stories. More flexibility for fun, one-off episodes.
But you know what isn’t changing? The great Christ-centered entertainment you’ve come to love.

How will CDs going away affect my Adventures in Odyssey experience?
Adventures in Odyssey is still here to bring you the same heartwarming and exciting stories you love! We will continue to create 24 episodes per year — so you’ll enjoy just as much content as always. The only difference is that the Adventures in Odyssey Club will now be the exclusive home for all new audio adventures. Albums 1-80 will still be available for digital download and broadcast on the radio, but for the latest episodes and continuing adventures, the Club is where you’ll hear them.
Why are CDs going away?
Over the last decade, CD sales have declined significantly across the audio industry, and Adventures in Odyssey has seen similar trends. The costs of manufacturing and marketing CDs are increasing. More importantly, the limitations of this format — such as releasing only six episodes at a time on a fixed schedule — restrict the types of stories we can tell. For example, we have only been able to tell stories that were six parts or fewer. By transitioning to the Club, our creators now have the freedom to craft longer, more cohesive story arcs and share them with you in a more dynamic and timely way.
Will I still be able to listen on the radio?
Of course! Adventures in Odyssey started as a radio program back in 1987 and radio is a huge part of our present and future. We will still have our weekly and daily programs and they will still be available to hear for free on our website. There will be some changes coming to how the radio schedule works… which we’ll announce later this year.
What will be the final CD album?
Album 80 (still to be titled) will be the final Adventures in Odyssey album released on CD. It will come out in March 2026.
How will this change affect families who don’t use streaming services, or have concerns about the cost of a membership?
We understand that this change may pose challenges for some families. Adventures in Odyssey has always sought to meet listeners where they are, whether through radio, cassettes, CDs, or now streaming. We hope to make the Club as accessible as possible over time and encourage you to consider options such as gifting an annual Club membership, which many families have found to be an affordable solution.
Our kids listen to Odyssey at bedtime and we don’t want them to have screens in their rooms.
Listening to Adventures in Odyssey at bedtime has long been a cherished tradition, and we understand that some families prefer to keep screens and Internet-connected devices out of kids’ rooms at night. One solution is using a Bluetooth speaker to stream audio from a parent-controlled device in another room. This way, children can still enjoy their favorite Odyssey episodes without having direct access to a screened device.
Additionally, with the playlist feature in the Adventures in Odyssey Club app, kids can choose their favorite episodes in advance, creating a personalized bedtime mix from our vast library of over 1,000 adventures—no CD swapping required!
Will there be new episodes available for digital download?
Starting with Album 81, episodes will only be available through an Adventures in Odyssey Club membership. However, all episodes prior to Album 81, as well as any you’ve already purchased, will remain available for download.
But why are downloads going away? I like to buy the shows digitally.
Over the years, we’ve seen a steady decline in digital downloads, much like the decline in CD sales. In response to the change in listening habits, we are focusing our resources and staff on the Adventures in Odyssey Club, the most popular way to hear the show. We want to continue to make it the best way to experience Adventures in Odyssey.
The Club is more than a way to simply listen to episodes—it’s an entire experience designed to provide more exciting Odyssey content and enrich the faith of our users. The Club offers so much more than access to new adventures; it provides devotionals, interactive activities, exclusive comic strips, video extras, book previews, and discussion questions that help families engage with the stories in a meaningful way. It allows fans to build community and engage with the content creators more deeply.
By keeping all new content within the Club, we can continue to provide valuable ministry resources while ensuring that Adventures in Odyssey remains a vibrant and sustainable experience for years to come. We’re so grateful for every family that joins us on this journey!
What about road trips? I want to listen to Odyssey on the go!
For decades, Adventures in Odyssey has been a beloved part of family road trips, and we want to help keep that tradition going! While some areas may have limited internet access, the Club offers a convenient solution—you can download any of our 1,000+ episodes directly to the app, so no Internet connection is needed to enjoy your favorite stories on the go. Simply create your road trip playlist and download your episodes before you set out, and the Odyssey road trip experience continues without interruption!
If your vehicle isn’t equipped for digital audio integration, an FM transmitter is a great alternative. This device allows you to play audio from your phone or tablet by broadcasting it to a radio frequency that your car stereo can receive, making it easy to enjoy Adventures in Odyssey just as you always have.
Will there be new CD collections?
While there’s a possibility of new “Best Of” collections or similar releases in the future, they likely won’t include episodes from Album 81 or beyond.
Will the pre-Album 81 CD albums be pulled from shelves?
We won’t be removing CDs from shelves, but once existing stock is sold, it may not be replenished. Over time, Adventures in Odyssey CDs may naturally disappear from bookstores.
Isn’t it cheaper to buy CDs? I’m concerned about the cost for my family.
We understand that cost is an important consideration, especially for families who already have a substantial Adventures in Odyssey CD collection. However, for new listeners, purchasing every album on CD would cost approximately $1,750. A full year of the Adventures in Odyssey Club is just $108. It would take 16 years of Club membership to equal the cost of buying every album individually—and the Club provides access to far more content.
In addition to our full library of episodes, Club members receive exclusive benefits, including devotional content with every adventure, over 100 episodes that were never released on CD, and brand-new storytelling experiences with fan-favorite characters in our digital comic strips. The Adventures in Odyssey Club offers an affordable and feature-rich way to experience the world of Odyssey like never before.
We understand that not every family is in a position to subscribe to the Club. Please know that our commitment to the ministry aspect of Adventures in Odyssey remains steadfast. That’s why we will continue to freely provide hundreds of episodes to radio stations around the world, ensuring that families everywhere can still enjoy these beloved stories. These same episodes will remain available for free on the Radio page of our website. There’s a free episode made available every day, plus a small selection of recent episodes.
For those who may be interested, we also offer a 14-day free trial of the Club, and gift memberships—both monthly and yearly—are available for those who have the opportunity to receive or give Adventures in Odyssey as a special gift. No matter how you listen, we are grateful to have you as part of the Odyssey family!
How many episodes will be released per year?
We will continue to produce 24 new episodes each year — just as we have for many years!
What is the new release schedule?
We’re excited to experiment with a fresh release schedule. Multi-part episodes will be released just one week apart, while stand-alone episodes may have slightly longer breaks. Keep an eye on the Club and our social media channels for updates on upcoming releases.
Will every episode be like a “Club Adventure?”
The distinction between “Club Adventures” and “Album Adventures” will eventually go away. Moving forward, any new episode has the potential to stand alone or tie into broader story arcs, much like our classic 12-episode albums. Bonus content and activities will still be available, but their frequency and focus will vary. Importantly, all of the bonus and extra content from the first twelve seasons of the Club will remain there.
My kids like having something physical that they can touch. Does the Club offer that?
We recognize that many families appreciate having something tangible as part of their experience. That’s why every Club membership includes a subscription to Clubhouse Magazine! This means that while Adventures in Odyssey is moving away from physical CDs, members still receive a physical resource they can touch and hold, filled with engaging stories, activities, and faith-building content.
Are there any plans for future AIO physical media? What about the collectible CD inserts?
We know how fun it is to collect physical Adventures in Odyssey items. While we won’t be producing audio CDs anymore, we’re committed to keeping the spirit of collectibility alive with items such as the new Official Adventures in Odyssey Trading Cards and other exciting merchandise in the future. As Chris would say, “Stay tuned!”
Our home is screen-free. How can we listen to Adventures in Odyssey?
We appreciate your family’s desire to maintain a screen-free household! In the interest of wise stewardship, we feel that transitioning Adventures in Odyssey to a digital-only experience is the most effective means of engaging with fans and making use of our resources.
After the release of Album 80 next year, you’ll still be able to enjoy more than 800 episodes on our existing CD albums. And those programs will continue to air on the radio. You can find a list of stations currently airing Adventures in Odyssey here.
We should also note that we have various Adventures in Odyssey book series as well: The Blackgaard Chronicles, Young Whit, and the Imagination Station. The Imagination Station series features more than 30 books for young readers and explores Biblical and historical stories through the characters in Odyssey. Finally, we have also created comic books and trading cards that families can use without looking at a screen.
In the future, we hope to create other products that will allow families to enjoy screen-free time together.
