As cousins Patrick and Beth arrive in ancient Rome, they quickly see just how much trouble the empire is in. The selfish Emperor Nero has no interest in being a good leader. There is music to enjoy, and poems to write! When a mysterious fire starts, the emperor and the other officials need to blame someone. Couldn’t they tell the people that it was all the fault of those pesky Christians? As the city burns, Patrick and Beth meet a familiar servant of God who helps them recognize a very old truth: Though the fires may rage around us, God always stays near, working to create something good.
