“‘Odyssey On!’ Is the Highlight of His Day”

My son Joel is 32 years old and has Down syndrome. One of his biggest challenges is speaking clearly. However, his favorite program is Adventures in Odyssey. Every day at 1:00 p.m., we eat lunch together as a family, and Joel makes sure the radio is on and tuned to our local station, Radio Logos. As soon as the Odyssey music begins, he clearly shouts, “Odyssey on,” and then listens very carefully with all of us. The program has clearly made a meaningful impact on his life.

“Odyssey Has Helped Me Through Overwhelming Times”

My great grandma just passed away, and the funeral was yesterday. Then my first ever pet, my bunny Patches, died. Of course, as soon as we found out, my parents had to leave for my dad’s pre-testing for prostate cancer surgery he’ll need soon. So, I’ve been very overwhelmed and crying a lot. But every second I get, I go to my room to spend some time listening to Odyssey. It’s helped a lot, and I wanted to say thank you. Please don’t ever stop recording!

“Odyssey Has Helped Me Through Overwhelming Times”

I grew up listening to Adventures in Odyssey and found that specific episodes spoke to me in each season. I remember listening to Olivia’s faith story and recall being disappointed. And a few years later, I found myself not loving God. I still believed that He existed and with everything in me wanted to love Him, but I couldn’t. This had been going on for a few weeks when I began listening again. It just happened that Olivia’s faith story was playing again. This time, it totally moved me. When Olivia realized she didn’t have the Holy Spirit with her, I started crying. I felt exactly like her. This adventure turned my life around. It was the catalyst toward helping me love God again. I thank God for Odyssey!
