Find a Starting Point
With more than 900 episodes, starting your journey on Adventures in Odyssey can feel a little overwhelming. Where do you even begin? If you are curious about the prefect place to start listening, check out the episodes listed below. Each episode is around 25 minutes and makes it easy to start listening to the series from that episode forward.
Album 1: The Adventure Begins
Episode #1 - Whit's Flop
It’s been said that the very beginning is a very good place to start. This is the episode that started it all — #1: Whit’s Flop. You’ll meet John Avery Whittaker, Tom Riley, and even get a tour of the incredible place known as Whit’s End.
Album 5: Daring Deeds, Sinister Schemes
Episode #66 - The Imagination Station
Some storytellers believe that a hero is only as good as the nemesis he faces. Album 5 introduces perhaps the most infamous of all of Odyssey’s villains, Dr. Regis Blackgaard. And if you start here, you’ll also see the introduction of Whit’s greatest invention: the Imagination Station!
Album 15: A Place of Wonder
Episode #199 - The No Factor
Rather than beginning your journey with a milestone, jump into a “regular” day in Odyssey…which means that anything can happen! Starting here means that you see Whit, Connie, and Eugene in their daily routines. And you also get to see Shakespearean actors Edwin Blackgaard and Walter Shakespeare arrive in town, Bernard and Tom on a camping trip threaten by a flashflood, and more.
Album 21: Wish You Were Here
Episode #274 - First Hand Experience
Why not begin your Odyssey by getting out of town? In this album, the odd couple of Eugene Meltsner and Bernard Walton take a journey across the country to California. Along the way, they make unexpected stops for a farm in Iowa, a jail in Colorado, and even a river of gold near Four Corners, Arizona.
Album 29: Signed, Sealed, and Committed
Episode #372 - For Whom the Wedding Bells Toll, Part 1
The first of several “relaunches” of Odyssey began here, with brand new kids, new situations, and a mystery of who exactly was getting married. Was it longtime sweethearts Eugene and Katrina? Old loves Jack and Joanne? Or Whit and mayoral candidate Margaret Faye? Plus, meet fan favorite kid: the conspiracy theorist Jared DeWhite and his sidekick Dwayne.
Album 35: The Big Picture
Episode #457 - Opportunity Knocks
Maybe you prefer to see the town and citizens of Odyssey going through the most trying events of their history. A multi-album story known as The Novacom Saga began here when a morally problematic corporation came to town with designs on Odyssey’s minds – in more ways than one! Begin at the beginning of the Novacom saga with “Opportunity Knocks.”
Album 39: Friends, Family and Countrymen
Episode #503 - Between You and Me
After an incredible adventure, things have to get back to normal, right? Well, in Odyssey, there isn’t really such a thing as “normal.” See everyone in town get on with their lives after the Novacom debacle in “Friends, Family, and Countrymen.”
Album 51: Take it from the Top
Episode #655 - The Inspiration Station, Part 1
After fifty albums and twenty years of audio programs, Album 51 was intentionally designed as a “reset button,” a place where new fans could start listening to Adventures in Odyssey without knowledge of previous adventures. A new voice for Mr. Whittaker, a new theme song, and new families in town all add up to the perfect place to start your journey.
Album 65
Episode #850 - The Shame about Fame
Things never settle down in Odyssey. See what’s going on in the present day in everyone’s favorite small town. Storylines involving Eugene and Katrina’s foster son Buck, Connie’s half-sister Jules, or the mysterious Morrie Rydell will keep you coming back for more. You never know what will happen when you have an Adventure in Odyssey!
